The bail money is a renewable resource. Once a defendant's trial is over, regardless of outcome, the bail is required to be returned to the fund where it will go towards helping the next person in need.
In an effort to maximize to the number of people we can assit, the JBF will contribute up to $500 in financial assitance. Additionally, if the bail is amount is more that $500 and all but $500 of the bail has been collected, the JBF will contributre the rest.
Currently there are three ways to contribute to the JBF. You can donate to our GoFundMe page, our PayPal, or wire money directly to us.
It is important to remeber that everyone who is on trial is innocent until proven guilty. We here at the JBF opperate under that belief, and as a result, do not discriminate based on type of charges we will help with. Instead, we ask for referrals and speak to public defenders to better understand the defendant.
Yes! The JBF is registered with the IRS as a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, so any and all contributions are tax-deductible. When you make a donation, you will recieve an online recipit. Please retain this recipit for your tax records.
